The Mile of Gold
The “Mile of Gold” in Kirkland Lake was marked by the headframes of 7 major mines that dominated the town’s skyline for generations, adding to the region’s rich history of gold mining. These 7 mines each mined a part of a single orebody. Together, these mines produced over 700 metric tonnes of gold.
Not only home to one of the world’s richest mines (highest grade), Kirkland Lake was indeed known for its significant gold deposits, when it was part of a major gold-producing region in Northern Ontario that was very significant in the early to mid-20th century. The area, often referred to as the “Golden Mile,” was home to several productive gold mines that operated for decades.
Rozbudz is located right in the middle of the Mile of Gold in downtown Kirkland Lake. Call or place your order today.
